THE BOOK
A book that sits out on the counter at the clinic in the pasture. A note on the very first page reads:
This is a compilation of information we've obtained or figured out so far. If you have anything to add, please write it in.
Should you try to remove the book from the clinic, you'll find a green sheep blocking your exit. The sheep will not move until you set the book back down.

What's going on? Where am I?
You've been brought here via magic. You weren't chosen intentionally; the magic grabs people at random. This is an entirely different world than you're familiar with. While it's possible for people to return from here, it's currently not something that can be done reliably.
Why don't I remember my name? Or someone else's name?
This is normal. It's impossible to remember the name of anyone present here, including yourself. People usually pick new names to go by. You can match your flock's theme if you want.
Rarely, people can lose memories of more than their name. But don't worry, they're recoverable.
What's with this collar?
Everyone brought here has one, and the color indicates what group you belong to.
If you have a colored collar, you're a member of a flock, and were brought here to help out the residents of this place. If you have a black collar, you are a Weed, and were brought here to interfere and cause chaos. (Though those are the intents, you're not forced to do anything.)
The flocks are:
Yellow: Daffodil
Blue: Bluebell
White: Lily
Red: Rose
Green: Clover
Purple: Thistle
Pink: Peony
Black: Weed
What's with all the sheep?
Due to a past conflict, all the residents here have been transformed into animals and lost some or all of their memories. The sheep are people who've lost themselves entirely. Some notable residents who are still able to talk and interact include:
Blossom: A pink sheep; her magic brought the flocks here.
Stormy: A black sheep; he's associated with Blossom.
Red: A fox dressed in sheepskin; he runs a shop where you can get small items for free, or larger ones for doing tasks he finds entertaining. This includes things from other worlds - but caution, his tasks can be violent or distasteful.
Daisy: A cow; she runs a shop where you can get foodstuffs. Her tasks tend to be kinder.
The snake: A snake; his magic brought the weeds here.
What is the point of a flock?
Flocks each live together in their appropriately colored barn. Weeds live independently, though there's a clubhouse that lodges some of them at the edge of the pasture.
Each flock is led by a shepherd, who can locate their flock members no matter where they are.
Flocks have magic specific to their flock: a healing power, and two or more other powers. You can obtain them by touching the crystal flower in your flock's barn.
Flocks also work together for rites and rituals.
What is a rite?
When flocks do activities together, it generates a power that can create things from nothing. Flocks also have particular activities relevant to their flock's theme that generate more power.
What is a ritual?
Rituals usually occur when someone summons a demon. This can be done by any of the residents, by Weeds, or in rare cases unintentionally, by spilling blood on a sigil.
During a ritual, people are forced into unusual situations and activities, often competitive. These can range from innocuous party games to deadly dilemmas.
Deadly???
Unfortunately, yes. Fortunately, death is not as permanent as it could be. Death is a conscious entity, and she can be looking or not, which you can tell by the eye on the fountain at the center of town. When the eye is closed, people can be quickly revived by putting their bodies in the fountain or by a member of Lily. When the eye is open, the situation is much worse, but still potentially recoverable. (It is not advised to die when the eye is open.)
What's the point of participating in rituals?
Winners of rituals are rewarded with coins that can display a memory (especially important if you are missing them), and sometimes with other benefits, like additions to their barn or other items. Winning also usually removes any negative effects of the ritual itself.
In some cases, losers of rituals are punished with effects lingering beyond the end of the ritual.
What other dangers are there?
Outside the larger fence are more dangerous animals. Further out in the mist it is extremely dangerous. The mist can't be navigated without a Weed, and even Weeds are attacked by the wolf-like creatures out there. If you are bitten by one, you need a special treatment, so please let someone know immediately.
I have so many more questions.
There's a book in the clinic that serves as a collaborative record. If there's any information you can't find there, ask your flockmates, and then please add it to the book!
There's also a library, if you're looking for more general information.
Thank you and good luck!
